This week my mind has been on Community as a Service (CaaS). Simon and I have been riffing on the idea over the past few months. The more we do, the more it starts to make sense that this is our philosophy of building community.
The challenge of community is real.
The more we talk about CaaS, the more it makes sense. The history we create is a service. The conversations we facilitate bring personal growth. The photos we take and publish can be used in a variety of ways. Sharing knowledge is often the best form of learning. Getting a speaking opportunity. Finding a new job, or person for your team. These are all examples of how we provide a service of value. Often that isn't available anywhere else. Non of this happens by magic.
In a market where courses and knowledge on their own is saturated, or where AI slop creates a worse experience, community has the opportunity to stand out.
Increasingly, it is my belief that somehow we have to figure out how to get 'the people' to understand that Community is a Service worth paying for. That things like courses, combined with building credibility in community, holds all kind of extra value, rather than doing it on your own. Or that participating in a roundtable discussion is in fact a confidence building, educational, personal development and career building opportunity built all into one.
This is Community as a Service. And it can be beautiful.
Onwards...to the Rosieland Roundup...
โ๏ธ This week in Rosieland

Come and ramble in Rosieland...
We recently redesigned our MoTaverse profile pages because they were getting overwhelming with content, badges and stars. This is a good problem.
We're now also experiencing growth with our chapters, and are experiencing more good problems. A redesign is due there, also a revisit of notifications, and other bits and pieces.
Recognise the good problems, and give yourself a pat on the back.
